Belgian composer (1808-1869), mainly active in Paris.

Lot of six autograph letters in French (untranslated) signed by him, addressed to the journalist Monsieur Campan, to the director of Opéra Comique Émile Perrin (1814-1903), the theater critic Charles Deulin (1827-1877), the librettist Thomas Sauvage (1794-1877) and mostly concern arrangements for meetings, theater seats, and private matters.

We report an extract as a sample, concerning his opera “L’Eau merveilleuse” (1839) : “…Mes répétitions avancent, mais [Jacques] Féréol et moi désirerons que vous y v… aujourd’hui à 1 h (…) J’ai perdu les paroles de l’air de Tartaglia, aurez vous la complaisance de me la donner si vous vous en souvenez…”. 

Different sizes, lengths, and conditions (see scans provided), in very good condition or better.
