Italian soprano (1907-1984), who excelled in the verismo repertoire, she was the composer Pietro Mascagni's favorite Santuzza in his opera Cavalleria Rusticana. She also created the roles of Atte in Mascagni's Nerone,  Cecilia Sagredo in Franco Vittadini's La Sagredo and Saint Clare in Licinio Reficie's  1926 oratorio Trittico Francescano.Â
