French composer (1818-1893), who reached international reputation for his operas Faust and Romeo et Juliette. 

Autograph letter signed by him, written in French (sold untranslated), dated 1878.  Size is 4.25 x 6.8 inches, 1 folded folio (3 pages written), small cracks over the right border, central fold, in very good condition.
